@Privacy I saw something like that coming when Alexa was first announced. If you value your privacy, better don't bring such a can home in the first place. Neither their counter-parts from G or A.

I wouldn't willingly enter a house where one of them sits (well, at least not without screaming right from the door: "Alexa, order 100 cans ravioli" – and more, to force the owner to shut it down (or throw me out)).

Seems likely the Facebook hack was a precursor to follow-up hacks, wherein the stolen personal info is used as fodder for spear-phishing and identity theft. We could be feeling the effects of this for years. twitter.com/MikeIsaac/status/1

@Liberapay So we won't see anything more privacy-friendly then the two? Many of us who have setup Liberapay to support our FOSS projects have strong objections towards Paypal. And from what I've heard so far, Stripe isn't really that much better.

I know it's not your fault that Mangopay closed its doors on you. But the current situation is quite disappointing. Refusing the two, many of us cannot receive funding via Liberapay now.

Not exactly about the GDPR but certainly privacy-related. A little thing I wrote because I find needing to explain "hacking" to people often enough.

Little did I know that it gets worse. Look at that save button.

Ive got the Wifi version of this that i use for travel, kinda wish i had gotten this one now. It uses #OpenWRT and has access right in the advanced interface to many of the repos for OpenWRT. Very nice, good for putting a firewall between me and hotel networks :)

@Privacy I like it. I've never built a cellphone before. Looking at the parts it probably would only take an hour or two to build. It would be awesome if it ran Ubuntu's mobile OS.

@Privacy what if, like, a dumb phone, but also running a Hotspot and pfsense and other privacy and security measures? Runs in your pocket for internet to your android or other smartphone, and filters content normally outside your control? πŸ€” Add a large batter for life and also charging your other phone. Yeah 2 devices, but better ux.

Anyone know how I turn off cloudflare dns in firefox developer?
I tried the about:config method of setting network.trr.uri to 5 & it still resolves domains I don't want & MY DNS blocks.
